"Prelude No 1 in C" JS.Bach- Solo Piano. Simplified- Early Intermediate
By J S Bach, arr. Grant Horsley
For unaccompanied piano
One of the famous rags recorded on piano roll by Joplin in 1902.This arrangement has been made simpler to allow more pianists to have a go at this great rag.The main change was to convert it to 4/4 instead of the (2/4 common two-step time signature for rags). The main reason is for easy of reading- and maybe easier on the eye to comprehend.I have taken out nearly all of the large stretches and limited the harmony parts to what is essential and nothing more. There are no big leaps or complex rhythms. It is 4 pages long and 4 mins 30 in length.I have set it for a capable early intermediate player- it's great fun and would be useful as a showpiece, something to play for concerts, recitals, productions, etc.
