This piece was written as I became enthralled with the poetry of e.e. cummings, which I was introduced to through Vincent Persichetti's choir adaptations of his work. in Just- stood out to me in particular for its use of spacing and language to mimic the way a child would excitedly talk about the season of Springtime. Here, I attempt to capture the excited nature of the child's voice through an unstable key and a quick tempo, which I genuinely enjoy. Three years later, this is still one of my favorite songs I have ever written.
