This trombone quartet arrangement of the 1920 jazz standard "Avalon" (named after the town on Catalina Island in California) is a unique from-the-ground-up arrangement, opening with a lyrical chorale that moves into an up-tempo Dixieland section. All 4 parts contain melodic material, and Parts 1 through 3 each have solos, which can either be improvised or played from the written-out lines provided. The Trombone 1 part comes in both tenor clef and bass clef versions, and the score and parts are marked up with cues for clarification.
